Jewellery a proof of love?

Few of us are aware of the fact that jewellery accompanies us during some of the most important moments in our lives. These small accessories perform a vital function. Human beings have been decorating their bodies with trinkets since time immemorial and some jewellery pieces were even believed to have magical powers. It goes without saying then that such accessories are of great significance for us.

It can be claimed that jewellery often constitutes a tangible proof of our feelings towards each other, especially in the context of a man-woman relationship. There are even some traditions related to jewellery which remained unchanged for centuries. Men often present their beloved ones with expensive jewellery as special occasion gifts (birthday, anniversaries, etc.) or without any particular occasion.

Besides, as we all know, when a man asks his beloved woman to marry him, he puts a beautiful ring on her finger (usually with a diamond to symbolize everlasting love), and whether she accepts it or not will determine the couple’s future. Besides, buying an engagement ring is a very complex process that requires a lot of effort from a man as the ring needs to be special and appeal to his partner.

Another occasion supporting the claim that jewellery can be a proof of love is a wedding day. Irrespective of whether it’s a church wedding or a ceremony at the registry office, both the bride and the groom put rings on each other’s fingers while saying their wedding vows: „I give your this ring as a sign of my love and faithfulness…”.

As we can see, some jewellery pieces may have a very special and even symbolic meaning for us. These small pieces made of precious metals and stones are excellent for some of the most important occasions in our life such as engagement, wedding, birth of a child, achieving various successes, etc. They are like tangible proofs of our feelings and resolutions reminding us of the most important values.
